Kenmore HE4 electric dryer has 120V/120v/240v on lugs, heating element, thermal fuse, high-limit thermostat & cut-off already replaced (did at same time as a kit). After replacing parts, heating element glowed for a few minutes, now has quit. What else can I check besides voltage at lugs & heating parts underneath? Hi @millerenko According to this supplier the part number for the tech sheet for the dryer is 8559652. Looking at the wiring diagram for an electric dryer on p.3 the heater’s power supply also comes via the centrifugal switch in the dryer’s drive motor. This switch operates when the motor gets up to running speed, so presumably as a safety feature, the heater can’t turn on accidentally if the motor is not running. I don’t know if this switch is accessible or not as in some electric motors it is internal to the motor and all you can do is test if it is operated when the motor is running, as it will be released when the motor is idle. Also perhaps the thermister is faulty and it signals the control board to turn off the heater when it shouldn’t See test #3 on p.5-6 of the tech sheet to see how to test the heater. Hopefully this is of some help.
