iPhone 5 was dropped from a height of just less than 3 ft, while in a supposedly shockproof case. It had been turned on and at least mostly charged. Now the screen will not turn on. When I plug the phone into the charger, the apple logo comes on and off for a few seconds repeatedly. This loop never ends no matter how long I leave it plugged into the charger. We have opened the phone, disconnected the battery and reconnected it, though we could not actually remove it, but that didn’t change anything. After searching online for information, I was able to get iTunes to recognize the phone as being in recovery mode, by holding both power and home for 10 seconds then releasing home. The screen never turned on, but while iTunes tried to repair the phone, it finally displayed error 4005. I tried again, but now it can’t get past “waiting for iphone”. There’s nothing for me to touch on the screen because it won’t turn on. I tried Dr.Fone but apparently the trial version won’t fix ios. I tried FoneLab 8, choosing “recover from ios device” on top left of main screen, but that app indicates that my phone is not in normal mode and tells me to press both home and power at the same time to put it back into normal mode. Just pressing the 2 buttons did nothing but when I held both power and home for maybe 10-15 seconds and FoneLab switched back to telling me to plug the phone in with a usb cable. The phone also showed a battery symbol looking mostly dead then switched to the apple logo briefly before shutting off again. The pattern did not repeat when I tried again. When I try FoneLab choosing “more tools” then “ios system recovery”, it tells me the firmware package has been downloaded and to select the firmware package to fix my device. I click on select but there are no files there. I’ve also tried ReiBoot but when I plug in the phone via usb, nothing happens. When holding power and home then releasing power 10 seconds later, I get the 3-tone connection sound, but it’s still asking me to connect via usb, Suggestions? Thanks!

you could try 3utool but since you dropped it, it could be damaged to the board and not the ios

Don’t use any of the dr.fone or any stuff like that it’s all junk, either use 3Utools or iTunes. And if apple logo goes off immediately after charger unplug then you need the battery replaced.
