I dropped my iPhone in hot wax while it was charging and the wax got in the speaker part. Now I can’t hear anything. I picked some wax out of the speaker but still the sound is very faint :( please help!
I love it when I hear new and exciting ways of breaking phones! Luckily, this one should be pretty easy to fix. Most likely, the earpiece mesh is clogged up. Follow this guide all the way through: iPhone 6 Plus Front Facing Camera and Sensor Assembly Replacement In the very last picture, you see a black sticker right beside the camera opening. There is a thin slot that runs through the sticker and it has very tiny mesh in it. Its purpose is to keep dust and debris out of the speaker. It sounds like it did its job! Fixing it could be as easy as cleaning out the wax, but I have no idea how to clean wax out of very small openings. If it were me, I’d buy a new earpiece mesh. Its just a sticker and it pulls right off. Apply the new one and you should be golden. [linked product missing or disabled: IF268-044-1]
