Is there a fix for the SMART system problem? I’m having the same issue EMC2428, mid 2011.
For the most part fixing SMART status errors isn’t worth the trouble, SMART status is there to tell you that your drive is failing. Replacing the drive is generally the thing to do. If you do choose to replace it I would recommend getting http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/DIYIM… (seems to be what other people recommend too) if you don’t then you’ll have issues with high fans after the install.
