President of the company got his iPhone 4s wet and now wants me to grab the pictures off of it. We have given him a new phone so there is no cell service on the old phone. The old phone has been dried out and powers up fine when you connect it to a wall charger. I can see the pictures but I have no way to transfer them via MMS, bluetooth or WiFI as non of those services are functioning. If i connect the phone to a MAC or PC via USB there isn’t enough power to start-up the device. I’ve sent it out to DriveSavers to see if they could pull anything off but they ran into the same problem. Any suggestions on other ways to try to get these pictures off of the phone? The user has of course never backed anything up or ever synched with another device. I have pulled the unit apart and removed the battery and then when I connect it using USB I at least get an Apple logo before it goes into a restart loop.
Get new battery or borrow a 4s battery when phone starts up you can use ifunbox to transfer photos off the computer
You need a new battery for sure, iphones will not go past the apple boot logo without one.
If you disconnect your new battery and phone still starts in recovery mode, you are in trouble if redsn0w or tiny umbrella doesn’t kick it out of recovery. If you get out of recovery, And If a freshly charged battery doesn’t allow iTunes to recognize the device, then the other choice is to fix the wifi. Find someone to replace blue coil and you’re done.
