I have a GE microwave/oven wall unit and the door doesn’t open until 5-10 seconds after cooking or after pressing open button. There is no outside handle. I don’t want to replace due to cost and installation in wall.
Cause 1 Open Lever Inspect the open lever for damage. If the open lever is broken or damaged, replace it. Parts Cause 2 Door Spring Inspect the door spring for damage. If the door spring is broken, replace it. Parts Cause 3 Door Latch Inspect the door latch for damage. If the door latch is broken, replace it.
Check the latch that is inside as it might be dirty. This would cause it to open more slowly than expected. You might have a broken spring where the latch holds the door making it not move enough to release the door.
