Chosen Solution
After replacing the battery of course I broke the screen,so I just want to make sure my iPod will work before I order a new screen.I also get a message saying my ipod is in recovery mode so I rebooted,recovered,connected to itunes and it still gives me the recovery mode screen.So Im not entirely sure it was the battery swap because it was giving me the same message before the removal of the old battery,which by the way was still holding a 3.7 -4.1v charge.Thanks for your time.
Hello, The device will boot without a screen on. Plugging it into I tunes without a screen on it is perfectly fine you can restore to normal features. All the best, Steve
