Is the CPU on base model 2017 21.5” iMac EMC 3068 modular/socketed/removable as are the 4K models? I see info for 4Ks but not base model.

I haven’t opened one yet so I can’t tell you from experience what it has. But doing a bit of sleuthing we can see the chip appears to be socketed! i5-7360U (Kaby Lake) FCBGA1356Kaby Lake U Now the rub! If you are thinking you can upgrade this to the i7-7700 you won’t be able to as the 4K models use a different socket (FCLGA1151)!
