I am wondering if anyone can tell me if I need to replace the click wheel on my iPod Classic 5th generation or if I need to replace the logic board. Here is a list of the steps I’be taken to trouble shoot: -Reset the iPod (the click wheel allows me to do this sometimes) -Restored the iPod -Left it face down without use for about week in case it has taken in moisture -Opened the iPod and disconnected everything to make sure all the connections were correct and clean I did notice a small amount of corrosion near the click wheel connection on the logic board which I why am looking for advice on what the issue might be. The iPod works great synced to my car and will turn in but I am unable to select or scroll. Any help would greatly appreciated!
Nicole Dyck if nothing else I would replace the clickwheel just to rule out any other issues. It is relatively inexpensive and not very difficult to replace. Here is the guide for it.
