im looking to swap my iphone logic board so i can remove the activation lock but the website im buying it from does specify which carriers its compatible with neither do i know which carrier my iphone is using so i am wondering does it really matter since i can change the carrier manually on the iphone?

i’m not 100% sure on this, but i’m pretty sure that network locks are like icoud accounts - not “physically” associated with a motherboard, but controlled at a server associated via IMEI or ESN. the only aspect of carrier property that is controlled by the physical motherboard is whether it supports GSM, CDMA or both. to directly answer your question, is there any way you can ask via a chat window or a contact us page? i don’t think it’s an unsafe assumption that if they don’t specify a carrier then it’s probably an unlocked board.
