When purchasing a replacement motherboard for my samsung galaxy s7, does it need to be the same model as the original? Mine is the G930F. Would it make a difference if i replaced it with the G930P motherboard?

Yes! Each model varies slightly, though it’s enough to prevent a off model MB from fitting in your frame/making all necessary connections. Update (08/16/2017) Models G930A G930V G930T G930F G930FD G930P are physically all the same. The difference between them is just how they are programmed before shipment. I have an uncommon s7 model, so I always get model # specific components…

Yes, the model number absolutely matters. If you get a G930P, your phone will be stuck on Sprint US, which is a CDMA based service provider. G930A is locked to AT&T G930T is locked to T-Mobile G930V is Verizon G930FD is International Unlocked with Dual SIM slot – you will need new housing if you get this one. Your G930F represents International Unlocked with single slot SIM. Go to http://imei.info and put our IMEI number into the field to find more about your phone.
