Chosen Solution
Anyone have a tear down of Nest Guard..Specifically how hard is it to change the “non-user replaceable” rechargeable battery when it needs to be replaced? Is this something that a novice can do?
To Replace the Battery:
- Remove circular tape on bottom (may need preheat)
- Back out the two screws so that they clear the case
- Insert a flat edge between the loosened screws and twist CCW toward the slots
- Insert a flat screwdriver tip into each slot and push the entire assembly out of the case. There are three connectors between the main assembly and the black plastic assembly that holds the battery. The battery can be replaced by loosening three screws to separate the main assembly from the battery assembly. Then, disconnect the larger connector from the main assembly Replace battery and reassemble
