Does anybody know yet if the Face ID sensor (basically the whole front camera assembly) is paired to the logic board? Wondering how that will affect repairs in the future, since the front camera does need to be replaced occasionally. We already know Touch ID can never be repaired with 3rd party parts, and the iPhone 7 and 8 can’t have the “button” replaced at all. I will not be surprised if the front camera doesn’t work at all if replaced.

Hi friend, the front camera is not tie to the logic board, more details please visit here Why iPhone X Face ID not work after repairing

Tried this myself with a few X’s, the front camera basically is your Face ID. When repairing or changing screens make sure to swap out the front camera sensor also or it wont work. Sorry, misread the question. I’ll order a new front camera and see if that works. This is interesting..

You can replace the front camera did one a few days ago works fine

Yes, just like the Touch ID system on iPhones 5s-8+ and now the SE 2nd gen, the Face ID is paired to each board, if it gets broken, the only way to replace it and get Face ID is to go to an Apple store, if not, the Face ID and front camera will be rendered useless.

Front camera works fine, but face id wont work . Got it replaced by a private firm after apple was basically giving me nothing, hence know this for a fact
