Do you need to replace the whole motherboard to remove iCloud lock, or can you just replace the logic board?
It sounds like you bought a used iPhone and it has iCloud locked on it. The only way to unlock iCloud is to get ahold of the person who put iCloud on the phone. They can unlock it from a computer, they don’t even need to be there in person. If you bought it on Ebay you should check and see if it was disclosed that it is iCloud locked. You might be able to get your money back. There is no legal way to unlock iCloud. The most likely reason it’s on there is the phone was stolen or lost. You should call Verizon and ask them if the phone is black listed or stolen. You can buy a used motherboard that is good and put it in the phone if the phone is in good condition. I hope this helps Update (05/11/2020) The reason iCloud is on it is to stop someone from taking their data. You can reset the phone all you want. The only people who can unlock iCloud is the person who put on and Apple. Which they won’t do. Apple won’t even unlock the phone for the FBI. Sorry that motherboard is dead unless you can get ahold of the original owner.
iCloud is very difficult to disable but you dont need to really replace your motherboard. Did you forget your password, if you did you can connect it to a laptop which has iTunes and use that to reset your iCloud. Actually you can also try out third party software like dr.fone for iOS and it will help you delete your iCloud account from the phone. Warning: You will lose your data which is on your iPhone or iPad etc. But dont worry there is always a solution to every problem. After you finish deleting your iCloud account you can retrieve all your lost data by using third party software like iMyPhone recovery or dr.fone itself and many other iPhone recovery tools available on the internet.
