The system looks like it took a fall. No Bluetooth or wifi as far as I can tell. The system turns on like it’s supposed to, but the only time I can use the controller is in safe mode, which makes me think it’s the chip. Any thoughts on what else could be happening? If I need to reflow the chip, what tools would you guys suggest I get for a budget around $150 give or take? This is a super cheap pet project I recently got. So if I fubar it, I’ll probably just use it for spare parts. Even if I don’t need a reflow I still want to get some tools for future projects ;)
It will most likely cost you more than $80 USD in tools to do a BT / Wi-Fi combo chip reflow. I would take it to a reputable local console repair store to get it fixed. I haven’t done reflows without a machine so I don’t know what the ideal length / profile for a reflow is.
