Do I Need The Adhesive Strips After Replacing The Rear Camera Ipod Touch 4Th Generation

I’m looking to replace the rear camera on my iPod Touch 4th Gen. I haven’t bought the parts yet but I will soon and I want to know-do I need the 3M Adhesive strips? I looked through the repair guide multiple times and am unsure if I need the Adhesives when I reassemble the display. Will the existing glue reharden? Also if it makes any difference I had the screen replaced by a company about a year ago when it shattered.
