Hello community, (sorry for mistakes, english is not my first language but i hope you understand) a friend of mine broke the glass of his iPhone 5 and asked me to replace it (only the glass). I watched a few tutorials in the internet where some people show how to separate the glass and the display and put a new glass on the display. I saw that they used a 70% oder 90% alcohol disinfection. What i couldn’t find is which type of glue/adhesive the used and where to buy it in the EU. I would like to know if it is possible to put it all together and leaving out the glue. Would that work??? Thank you for your answers.
The glue you are asking about is loca glue. Linked it to an informative article about the glue for you. The guy pretty much explains exactly what it is and how to use it for iphone screen repair.
Yes when replacing only the glass you will need a special adhesive that is transparent which is used to glue the glass to the LCD you can find it on eBay Ill post a link, but be warned replacing just the glass is extremely hard and is not even done by professionals. If it was me i would recommend replacing the whole LCD Build. Of course that will cost you close to 200 dollars but at least you can complete it worry free. Anyways good luck and please look at this video. Link for Glue: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Touch-Screen-Bon… Link for video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbZwypAIN…
You’d better consider what Valiera mentioned above. It’s easy to break the glass lens when separating it from the display. You’d better replace the whole screen, which is about $90 rather than $200 that Valiera said. Display assembly repair guides: iPhone 5 LCD and Digitizer Replacement
you can use uv glue for this.
hi. i like the way you didnt use the glue as that seems the most annoying part to me, the bubbles. but when you say you used some glue on the upper case, do you mean just a little bit around the outer case?
Hey, so i was reading this post and i was wondering if anything happened to the iphone you repaired with NO GLUE? I have an iphone with a broken glass and i really dont want to use the glue, that part looks very messy. I would like to know if NOT using the glue is gonna bring me some future problems, i dont want my phone to have future problems because of not using the glue.
It appears the glue is a safety precaution incase you break the glass, it don’t come apart as easy and cut you also may keep it from breaking as easy
I ordered the glass to replace my iphone 5 without the lcd. The iphone 5 glass came with a double sided adhesive tape, can i use that instead of the adhesive glue? and if so is there a video on youtube that shows it? i have not been able to find any videos using the adhesive tape. just the liquid.
I don’t think you need to do with your own so please hand over your iphone to an expert who is good that because if a small mistake happen it will spoil your phone, but if you had plan to make your own then use fevikwik glue that is very good for all this stuff.
