I want to replace the RAM in my laptop. I’m wondering if I need to purchase both the anti-static strap and mat or if I can just get the strap and connect it to a ground source (like the screw of my wall outlet). Thanks in advance for any help!
Adam A a simple anti-static strap will work for this. Even if you do not use it, make sure that you discharge yourself first (touch some grounded metal) and don’t work on carpet floor or wear garments that increase the potential for static to build up. You got this!
