I have a laptop with a cracked screen, and the touch screen works until a certain point of the screen (the marked red area of the picture). Does this mean I need to get a new digitizer? or is this just an issue with the LCD. I also have a horizontal green line that goes across my screen, is this the LCD?

Thanks in advance! (also my laptop is a satellite s55t-b5233, but I wasn’t able to pick that model from the device list)

Well, i’m guessing the lcd and digitizer are sepperate since its a touchscreen laptop, so i’m guessing you are fine with just replacing the ’ touchscreen part'.

The image itself does not present any significant damage if any at all, so you should be fine just replacing the digitizer. From the (veryveryvery quick) research I’ve done, the LCD and Digitizer are separate and not glued together as in some models, so the digitizer alone can be replaced, it seems. There are quite a few tutorials on YouTube and Google on how to replace it. Let us know of any other questions or issues that might come up.
