I have a MacBook Pro mid 2012 13” and my friend butchered it, he tried to solder his own laptop and thinks it’s done but the only problem I can see is no backlight fuse, he just gave it to me so I would love to fix it and have a Mac! Powers up and fan runs . Id love help to know what all is missing and any ideas on what to do to fix it.
I see some corrosion near the LVDS connector (bottom image), clean it with some distilled water and a soft toothbrush with a light touch as you don’t want to lift off the small SMT components. Rinse off with 85% or better isopropyl alcohol. Then take a new pic of the connector area and in focus. Post it as well.
