Dishwasher brand: Whirpool Model: WDT790SAYM3 Whirpool dishwasher diverter valve is not spinning. I have checked the voltage on the blue leads to the diverter valve and I get only 10V 60Hz. One of the youtube video was saying it should be 120V 60Hz. I also checked the diverter pump with by directly applying 120V 60Hz to the diverter and diverter is working. What else can be broken that will reduce voltage supplied to the diverter valve? The water pump is working fine. Everything else seems to be working well.
Hi @valentynrepair The diverter valve motor (part #W10537869 supplier example only) is a 120V motor. It’s also shown on the blue label on the motor in your image Did you test for voltage between just 1 blue wire and an earth? One side of the motor will have the full 120V AC, the other side will be a lot less due to the voltage drop across the motor Here’s the tech sheet for the dishwasher that may help. On p.5 is the diverter valve circuit, although it doesn’t show the circuit on the control board except for the triac which is basically just an electronic AC switch. You may have to check at various accessible points in the circuit to find out why there isn’t the full 120V AC available. Be safety aware as you’re dealing with lethal AC voltage. The tech sheet also shows how to run the diagnostics so you can check for any error codes and what they mean - see p.3
