Chosen Solution
Alright, so I open up my MacBook Pro one day and I’m met with a flickering & static mess on the display. Welp, I thought I had cracked it. Turns out I haven’t, and by twisting the top corners of the display I’m able to get it to go away and it looks flawless. Only issue is that this is a temporary solution and it breaks again every time I open the lid. I know it’s a long shot. but has anyone else ever experienced this? As the LCD works fine some of the time, could it be repairable or am I barking up the wrong tree? I tried opening and reconnecting the display cable but no luck. If this requires an LCD replacement then does anybody know a reputable place to get a display in the UK? They seem really really expensive and I remember when I fixed another MacBook Pro they were about £139 from aliexpress now they’re like close to £300 somehow :(
Sadly your display has failed, what likely has happened it the process of opening it from the corner has stressed the LCD electrical connections (TAB error) this is where the flex ribbon cable is attached to the glass LCD’s metal oxide connections which has now failed.
