I replaced the screen on my series 3 and the display is acting weird. It displayed the logo for a little bit, and then went blank when I powered it off. I then rebooted it and the display failed to put anything on the screen. While the display was black, it was still registering touch. I re-seated the cables many times. Could the LCD flex cable possibly be bad?
Yes it could be bad. Did you disconnect the battery prior to repair? Did you damage the fpc connectors? If yes to the battery, and no to damage,it is likely the screen. Assuming you replaced it because it was cracked, did the cracked screen still work fine otherwise? Whenever you you get a generic screen, there is a very very very high chance it’s defective. Quality control sucks, and the design is usually bad…as in circuitry and how secure and strong the whole display is. Its probably a bad lcd in my opinion. I’d replace it before worrying much more. Where’d you buy the screen from? Etrade supply is supposed to be good quality. But it’s a hit and miss with genetics. I’ve had 2 bad iPhone screens, maybe 4 if you could display issues(lines and burn in images). You get what you pay for. I’d definitely get another one to try.
