Display Looks Strange As If There Are Spotlights Some Places Are Dark Macbook Pro 15

I noticed that the display screen looks as if there are spotlights only lighting up parts of the screen. The places in between the ‘spotlights’ are dark and shadowy if that makes sense. It is not my computer but a family member’s computer. Is there any way to fix this?
