Very old issue, I found it while Googling, but I have a question. How was it apparent from the main description that it was an issue with the inverter cable, as opposed to the inverter itself? Background I am having a problem on a Dell notebook where the display is very dim, almost pure black, but you can very faintly discern the image. I am thinking of ordering a new inverter, but if the the problem is with the cable then a new inverter won’t help (and would be a waste of money and time). Not sure if this board has rules against necroposting, or if the original participants will see, this but thought I’ll try anyway :) Thanks.
arkaroy2015 “the display is very dim, almost pure black, but you can very faintly discern the image.” leads to the invrter. Here is the trick, based on what model it is, it may not have a separate inverter. If it is an LED backlit display then it is the backlight circuitry on your board that is giving you problems. More information will require a proper model number.
