I have a Vizio E55u-D0. When watching TV, the display intermittently flickers off an on in around 0.5 second intervals. Reading other questions, I’m fairly confident this is a backlight issue since the sound does not go out along with the image. I’m wondering if the most likely cause is the power supply board or the LED array? When the screen flickers on and off, the entire screen goes dark, not just certain areas.
I’d say it’s highly likely that it’s an issue with the LED strips - suggest that you swap them all out, you can buy a replacement set at - https://www.shopjimmy.com/vizio-ic-a-vza… Generic instructions to replace them can be found at - https://factory-reset.com/wiki/LCD_Backl… - it’s quite a delicate process to remove the LCD so be sure to check out some video tutorials on YouTube to get an idea of the process.
