Display distortion at certain lid angle. Is it possible that there is loose contact somewhere (where?)? How to access display connector? https://youtu.be/YmD5Gw0-mQ4

Ouch! Not good! Sadly, there is nothing you can do to fix this other than replacing the display assembly MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Late 2016-2017) Display Assembly and here’s the guide MacBook Pro 13" Touch Bar 2017 Screen Replacement Apple altered the design in the Touch Bar & Fn systems of the display splitting the T-CON logic from within the lid to the uppercase in doing so they extended the LCD lines via a set of ribbon cables connecting to the T-CON board in the case. Sadly these ribbon cables are soldered to the two parts and not serviceable which is why you need a new display assembly Here’s a more detailed view:

The Purple ribbon cables are the ones affected here. Either you have a damaged cable or you got wetness into the T-CON logic within the metal can. Most of the time we see Blue cables fail FlexGate when’re the backlight cable goes and the iSight camera which is a mirror on the other side.
