Chosen Solution
Hi community, So unfortunately the other day I spilled some wine on my MacBook Air. I took it apart, cleaned the logic board, put it back together and it works except for the display backlight as I can see the lock in screen when I shine some light from the back through the Apple. A friend at work gave me his two also broken Macbook airs as he doesn’t want to deal with Apple products at all anymore. So I was able to swap logic boards around but ultimately in all MacBooks the backlight never seemed to work. What could I do now ? Help is greatly appreciated. Nic
From what I could find it seems it is nearly impossible to replace the backlight on theses models without VERY advanced tools and skills. Also, for these models the display assembly is $549.99. I don’t know what to tell you, except good luck.
