I have a whirlpool dishwasher WDF520PADM7. About 3 years old. The dishwasher will fill up with water but then does not wash. It seems like it thinks its going through the cycle because the soap dispenser pops open. But all it does is fill up and drain. I tried multiple cycles and even worked with the door latch to see if that maybe an issue. I already tried cutting the power and turn the fuse back on. I have a feeling from what I have read that it is the sump and motor assembly. Does anyone have any feedback?

Hi @apratter12 , Check behind the kickplate (toeplate?) or door panel, to see if there is a “tech sheet” there. If there is this will show how to get into the diagnostic mode for the dishwasher, which may give some clue as what is or is not happening. Here’s a link that may help if there is no tech sheet but not sure if this is for your particular model. Have you checked that the hot water supply is at the correct temperature and pressure at the dishwasher? According to the manual it says the dishwasher must have : A hot water line with 20 to 120 psi (138 to 862 kPa) water pressure can be verified by a licensed plumber. 120°F (49°C) water at dishwasher. If the water is not hot enough it may be waiting for the heater to heat it up but the heater can only raise the temperature by about 40-60F which may not be enough if the water is too cold. Just a thought.
