I took my Xbox I found in my great aunts basement and it turns on fine and I can’t get the disc drive to work. It is a LG-Hitachi data systems disc drive made in ‘05. It doesn’t read discs and the belt was replaced and now the tray wont move back in. When I tried to force the tray in it made a grinding sound. Isaac-your standard 13 yr old game and computer collector.
The drive wasn’t reassembled properly. There is a slide locking mechanism that wasn’t put into unlocking position when pushing the tray back in, the sliding pin should be put in a slot on the bottom of the tray.
