Chosen Solution

I have an analog under the cabinets flat screen TV that needs a digital converter, but there is no space other than in the cabinet for the unit. If I do that then I have to open the cabinet door to change the channels—-dumb plan. The cable company had a box that had an IR sensor on a cable so that I could but the box in the cabinet and the little IR cable/sensor talked to the remote. This was attached to the TV I’d like to trash the $6.99 fee for the cable box and just use the TV for free over the air use. Any suggestions?

If you are using the converter to select channels, then there is no alternative but to have access to its IR receiver. I recall many years ago that there was an RF to IR converter system (Rabbit comes to mind) that would work, but I’m not sure those are around any more. Is there any way to mount the converter on some type of under counter shelf next to the TV? Dan
