I bought a shell and it doesn’t fit either of my current controllers. The screw on the top part is on the left. Which model do I need.
@nlthor , Nick, There should be a label on the controller, you will have to check the model # on the controller to get the correct part as they do make revisions(slight changes). Below is a link you can click through to see the various controllers and the 2nd link is a vid. showing some revision on controller. Link #3 talks of aftermarket/copy cat controllers that are not put out by Sony and could be significantly different inside. Good luck. The blue controller is the old one and the red controller is the new one
. Look closely between the r1 and r2 button when you disassemble both controllers the motherboards and motherboard holders are different. They also align differently as you can see in the picture below.
