So, like an idiot, I spilled some water on my latop. It was turned off but charging at the time. I disconnected the charger, wiped it down and left it to dry for 12 hours. Now the charger won’t charge the laptop. The magsafe doesn’t light up when the charger is connected and the computer won’t boot (the battery was empty when the computer turned itself off). From poking around here it seems like a common issue with water damaged DC-in boards. Is there any way I can verify that this might be the problem or should I just send off for the part right now? Or any other ideas?
Measure the voltage between the small pins from plug. You should get the following results. pin one grd, pin two 17.98 v dc, pin three center 3.5 v dc,pin four 17.98 v dc,and pin five grd.
