I have a Dewalt DCD996BR 20V MAX XR Cordless. When I press the trigger, the drill starts spinning then stops and remains stuck. Pressing the trigger multiple times wont make it start unless tapping the drill. When the drill is stuck and I press the trigger, the lights near the battery turn on, but there is no responde from the drill. What could be the source of this? Also, the drill only stops when spinning to the left, but not the other way.
Loose wire(s), intermittent component such as the switch and/or the direction toggle. Time to get into the unit itself and start wiggling wires and using a multimeter for continuity checks. Make sure you have removed the battery first before attempting continuity checks.
