Hi Everyone, We are having an issue with our Galaxy Tab S not charging. When you connect the charging cable it acknowledges that you connected it it and say’s it is charging but it never charges, the batter only holds the charge level when in sleep or goes down when in use. I’ve tried multiple chargers and cables, I’ve tried cleaning the port with a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol and blowing it out with some air. I see that you can purchase replacement batteries and a replacement charging port but they are fairly expensive and we’re a little hesitant to spend the money if the issue does not get resolved. I seen another post on here of someone with a similar issue who says they have replaced both but it did not fix the problem. Is there any way to diagnose what is going on so I can tell if replacing parts will help? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, If the tablet works OK when on the charger (not talking about charging the battery) and only works for a short while, if at all, when on the battery only, I suspect that the battery is failing to hold its’ charge and needs to be replaced. Even rechargeable batteries have a lifespan. Here’s a link to the ifixit Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Battery Replacement guide, which may be of some help. Batteries are available online. Just search for Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 battery to get results for suppliers of the part
