Heyo Recently replaced my device’s screen after accidentally breaking the cables when replacing the battery (ooooopsies |:-/ ). Anyway, now the device won’t close all the way. I don’t get that nice crunch when trying to close it up. It slides in fine, but it doesn’t actually attach itself. Any suggestions? Edit: Right now my plan is just to get one of those cases with a front portion. I’m pretty sure this will work, but I’m hoping to use this phone for another 2 years before I have to buy another one lol.

Hi Did you make sure to slide the top on first as it need to latch or hook onto the top part of the phone Also have you tried removing the battery and seeing if it fits? Also if you follow this amazing guide and upload some photos we can get a better idea of what going on Adding images to an existing question Hopefully this helps Any questions please ask Thanks:-)

Check around the adhesive for screws, glass or dirt. Also check the silver rectangular chip on the screen isn’t catching on the board.

Ensure all screws are in the correct position and tightened sufficiently. Note that a screw sticking out could be causing this issue. Next, check for any damage to the body of the phone, slightly bent? Corners caved in slightly? Further, check that the screws in the side of the screen, holding the heat shield, are in straight and fully. Check the brackets on the side aren’t bent, if they are: when going to push the screen down, carefully use a spudger to push them inside the phone slightly Finally, ensure the new battery is properly installed, the adhesive isn’t too thick and that it isn’t swollen already. Although rare, I have received faulty batteries that come swollen and cause this issue. Send us a picture of where it isn’t going down, we may be able to diagnose from that.
