This receiver was purchased at goodwill long ago, was apparently played at high volume with low impedance speakers for extended periods of time. Doing the “microprocessor initialize does not fix it, however i have confirmed that this “reset” does function in some way. It is not connected to anything. I would appreciate any help i can get as info about this receiver online is scarce.
Hi @mighty_ Here’s the service manual that may help. Maybe check that all the power rails are OK, starting at the AC input on p.59 (of 61) Update (01/19/2023) Hi @mighty_ You would need to have a DMM (digital multimeter) and know how to use it safely when testing as lethal AC voltage is connected to the device and also know how to read schematic diagrams so that you can track the circuit paths. Here’s an image from p.59 to shows the AC input to the receiver. The voltage references highlighted are DC voltage so they’re not bad although AC voltage is present in the area of testing and some are shown going to other schematic circuits in the manual so you would have to find them using the reference e.g. to 9363-5 or to 2744-4 and then continue testing from that point.. Without a fundamental knowledge of how electronic circuits work, what the symbols mean on a schematic diagram and how to test the various components then you can cause more trouble than what was already there.
