Chosen Solution
Swapped out 1 gig 4x of Ram with 2 gig 4x Ram. Ram was recognized correctly but system was continually powering down and restarting. Now no matter whether I use original or new ram I am getting 5 beeps which indicates cmos battery. I replaced with 2 different batteries and have also tried to boot with NO battery in place but continue to get 5 beeps with NOTHING on the screen. If I remove all ram I get two beeps which indicates no ram detected. If I add just one ram stick I get the 5 beeps again. Any suggestions?
@stumpled let us know if you get the 5 beeps with and without CMOS battery. I am sure that you did try new CR3202 batteries. Double check the contacts on the battery holder and make sure that the battery is inserted the right way. Just to make sure.
