Recently I bought an iPad mini 5, it works perfectly fine and keep battery very well but when I want to charge it when I plug it into the charger it sometimes take a few seconds (like 4-8 seconds) to start charging and I have to mention that I use Ipad’s original charger and cable and I also used anker power bank also my iPhone charge but I still have this problem. Any one has experienced it? and anyone knows is it serious problem and is it may damage my iPad?

Exact same issue here on the iPad Pro 2020: can vary between 10 seconds to over a minute! And that’s with the official USB-C charging cable and fast-charge plug that came with the device Curiously, using an old iPhone adaptor and USB to USB-C starts charging the same device immediately And likewise: the official cable and charger are recognised immediately if the unit is powered off Bizarre, very basic, issue

I also have this problem, I think it’s an issue in iOS/PadOS as I’ve seen iPhones also do this is some versions of iOS.

I am currently going through this issue. I have tested on Apple branded and other brands of charging wires and ports but issue remains. I’ve contacted Apple and I got my replacement today. Issue is also on the replacement.

My new ipad mini is always have this same issue :( whats wrong :( do you think this is an ios problem?

My Ipad mini 5 also has the same problem. Everything is perfectly fine but still it is anoying

Mine also does the same sometimes it takes 15 seconds, no delays when it’s powered off though

You should turn off your device before start charging..
