I bought a used macbook pro early 2015 A1502 knowing the issue, everything works as it should when plugged into external screen but the screen on the mac is dead. previous owner brought it into apple and they said it was(See image below). previous owner said he plugged it in one day and it went dead and the apple employee said it was a fuse. any troubleshooting methods that can help me figure this out? update Checked the backlight fuse the one with the “p” fuse is in good working order however I did find some water damage near the bottom corner by the USB plugin (see photo)

Carefully clean off the corrosion using some distilled water, you may need some white vinegar as well. Wash the area down with distilled water if you use the vinegar to neutralize the vinegar. Then wipe the area again with a high grade isopropyl alcohol (85% or better) to speed up the drying of the water. Take a fresh detailed picture of the area again so we can see the damage ands what will be needed next. Here’s a reference picture of the same area:
