Hi! I have changed a few iPhone 5S displays and the device is starting to scare me now. Have had multiple devices with weird problems after screen replacement (but most of the time it works like a charm). Why is this? What is it about the 5S thats so different from 5 and 5C. Thanks!
Hey this video might help you with your blue screen issue: https://youtu.be/t2LbEWYHs_0
This is a common problem that occurs if you do not put the screws in the right place for the metal shield that covers the lcd and digitizer connections. It’s very important to make sure you lay out your screws when you remove them in the same order. There is one longer screw and if it’s put into the wrong spot you can damage the logic board and get the blue screen of death error 9 or 14. Here is a diagram of the proper screw layout on youtube, although hard to read it gives you the layout. Try removing the screws and put them in the proper order. If your lucky it might resolve the problem. If it damaged the logic board too deep it is not repairable. Hope this helps…..
I know some blue screen 5s problems come from screw damage to the board–tearing the trace under the screwhole. Wow, we’ve come a long way since I answered this in August. iPhone 5s blue screen causes: 1.) proximity flex 2.) long screw damage–accidentally using a longer screw than original to screw down the LCD shield plate at the bottom right screw. 3.) baseband/charging chip failures, various chip-level defects. 1 is a DIY fix. 2 is solvable with what I call ’extreme microsoldering’ –hit me up via my profile if you want to ask me about this professionally. 3. too much of an easter egg hunt right now.
Hello, Defiantly check the screws like brucemicki said, if that doesn’t help then take it a step further. The next thing you will need to do is disconnect the connectors and clean them with like a 91% alcohol, then try it again, if this doesn’t fix your problem, then you may have a bigger issues. Like minor logic board damage in the connectors area, which can happen if the phone was ever dropped. Inspect the connectors for any micro fractures or blown resistors and diodes, you will need a microscope or Superman’s vision. If you fine and of this, then lets hope you are a micro soldering specialist. If this helps please accept and mark me up!
Try the old screen see if that works could be a faulty screen you ordered. iPhone 5 sucks as a phone too far to many problems relating to battery and charging

happened to me… here’s my workaround in a similar thread: Apple logo then blue screen
Hello Oscar, Blue screen is caused by putting the screws back into the wrong places. Double check that everything is where it should be! You might have damaged your motherboard :(. Here is some more info: http://vkrepair.com/iphone-5s/iphone-5s-…
What about those who have had the BSOD for no reason, after 2 freaking months of having bought the phone BRAND NEW! And then sent it off to Apple, then it happened AGAIN after 3 weeks of the replacement? And after being charged a service fee, even when I have Apple I care >:(
