Chosen Solution
Hi all, I bought the battery replacement kit and dc-in board to service my MacBook. I replaced everything last night, and I thought everything went well, no obvious screw-ups. However, when I tried to turn it on, it wont boot. The magsafe adapter lights up when it is plugged in, and the battery level indicator on the side is nearly fully green, and recognises the charger/charges when plugged in. I have reset the SMC and re-done the connections twice. I am afraid I may have shorted the logic board at some point but I’m not sure how. Are there any other common issues with this repair that I can test easily before I take it to the shop? Cheers, Spencer
Give this a shot. Disconnect the mag-safe. Disconnect the battery from the logic board. Press and hold the power on button for ten seconds. Now reconnect the battery, then the mag-safe. You should get a spontaneous reboot.
