Hi All.. ok so another data recovery question….my S8 just stopped after my wife placed the cracked rear cover in some water by the pool. Black screen and completely dead, no response. I opened the phone about 2 months later, the only visible corrosion was around the USB charge port but I cleaned all major connections. I have a wireless charger but that does nothing, it flashes blue which says charging, does it actually mean the battery is charged? I have replaced the battery. question - can I fit the board that contains the storage chip into another s8? This would save me purchasing many parts ie digitiser, led, charge port, wireless charge coil etc as I determine what’s wrong with it. nothing looked wrong in my phone but I’m no tech and have limited tools, but fairly capable. cheers
Try buying a usb c to usb online at Aliexpress
I think you may try recovering data from this phone first, and then fix the problem by replacing the components, because you are likely to lose the data if you take some mistaken actions.
