I cleaned my screen with 50% rubbing alcohol and this oval appeared in the center of my screen. It appears to be wear from where my thumb would be scrolling. The screen still works great but shows the oval. Anything I can do to make the big oval disappear?
Good Afternoon, I can barely see the dark oval that you are talking about. You have good eyes! It took me a while to see it. As far as the oval goes, my best guess is that you somehow removed or damaged the oleophobic coating on the phone when cleaning the phone. You are only supposed to use 40% isopropyl alcohol and 60% water. You could try and reapply the oleophobic coating onto the iPhone, however, chances are that the oval will still remain. In which, you would need to replace the LCD display. The rubbing alcohol does tend to damage the oleophobic coating so the area where you rubbed the most could be causing the oval.
