Chosen Solution

Hi everyone, I have a badly stripped screw head and I’m thinking of using a dremel-type tool/rotary saw bit to cut through to get it out. See attached picture, the bottom image shows where the screw is, and top image shows tiny pillar the screw itself goes into. I’m thinking of cutting the pillar part — what advice do you all have? What sort of saw bit should I use if this is the best way to solve the problem? PS Have tried the usual tricks, e.g., a rubber band to fill the screw head, rubber cement to join a screwdriver to the screw, etc. I’m waiting for a precision screw extractor kit, but in mean time I’m curious for any feedback, Thanks!

Sometimes there is a better option! I wouldn’t bother with the screw at all, instead I would carefully cut the plastic so the screw can slide out from the side using a sharp knife.

Cutting screws out creates metal dust and chunks which can create electrical issues with shorting unlike plastic which is not conducive.
