I have a cub cadet model 1600 and it wont shift into forward, but i can get neutral and reverse just fine. I thought the shifter lever was bent, but after further investigation it seems like it may be skipping it or not shifting into it all the way. Any ideas and or suggestions?
Check out the Cub Cadet troubleshooting page, they have a couple suggestions. It might be that the transmission bypass lever is in the service position. There’s also this lawn tractor repair site that suggests that “one of the two towing valves might be partially released.” It might end up needing a transmission rebuild.
