When I connect set top box to my crt tv, it shows picture for 1/2 minutes without sound & goes off ( black screen ). If I connect the same to another tv , it works. If I take out sound cable out again it shows picture. When I connect tester to terminal outer of the it shows minor current. Please let me know how to repair / diagnos fix the problem.

You need to let us know what make and model your TV is and where do you conect the cable for the sound. You also want to give us more information about “I connect tester to terminal outer of the it shows minor current. “ you tested what terminal and what current will become important. Try an different video input without the set top box. Try a DVD, video, or game console and let us know what you get. Please be aware that CRT’s create high voltages! These things can be dangerous to repair.
