august last year my phone became water damaged it was dried out and was working fine i had to replace the screen in october (i went to a shop for this) when the screen wqas replaced the phone would no longer turn on im wonder if this could be due to previous water damage and if i was to replace the battery would it work again?
Drying out and cleaning are a bit different! Popping the phone into a vacuum chamber, warming it or shaking out the water does not remove the stuff that was in the water (or drink). Its this stuff that over time eats into the components and wiring. So to answer your question its not likely to help if the phone was not opened and properly cleaned in a timely manor.
