Chosen Solution

Hi, im in remotest Philippines with no easy access to a repair technician. My mbp (820 3476 A) stopped charging showing a dim green light. Inspection found a corroded resistor on the logic board which subsequently fell off whilst cleaning with alcohol. Any suggestions for a work-around? Suffice it to say i only have access to ridiculously unsuitable soldering gear… Looking for a crazy out of the box solution to get me working again temporarily if one exists!

@jpfnij I am certain that you have fixed this by now. After all it has only been 4 years ;-). This answer is for completion sake only. The part that fell off is NOT a resistor. It is reference designator C7100 which is a 1UF 10% 10 V capacitor in a 0402 package. It is part of your PBus and Battery Charger circuitry.
