I would like to use a cheap Chinese tablet for commercial display purposes connected to AC power only. However, I would like to have the battery removed so as to make it more reliable from a startup perspective, safer to ship, remove charging circuit energy usage/heat, as well as lighter in weight. The batteries in these tablets appear to be required for basic operation even though the unit is connected to AC power. The irulu for example will not startup unless their is a certain level of charge in the battery, even though it is connected to the AC adapter. I would like to have the battery removed and the associated charging circuit bypassed. The normal AC adapter for this outputs 5VDC/2000ma. Does anyone have any idea on how to do this “safely”?
